I first heard about Marc Jacobs from listening to David DeAngelo’s monthly interview series (October). I went out to the mall to get a whiff of this stuff and it is incredible (If there was only a way to smell stuff over the internet :) ). If you could smell confidence then this is what it would smell like. It smells very different but warm and comforting, or as David D would put it…different in a positive way. Its a serious upgrade from the Nautica I have been using due to it being a very unique smell. This is how a man should smell.

The Understated Aphrodisiac.5
I bought this for my boyfriend when I was on a Marc Jacobs kick. I had never tested it before, so I bought a smaller bottle. At first, it’s unusual and sweet; it’s like nothing I’ve ever smelled before. As it settles, it is a silent lady killer. We were in an elevator, and a woman actually asked what he was wearing. He has gotten a lot of comments on it, despite the fact that he can never remember that it’s Marc Jacobs.

If you want something that no one else is wearing, that women love, go with this.

REFRESHING AS A SEA BREEZE5
It seems that men who often say they don’t wear cologne are drawn to this new scent from Marc Jacobs. And, the women for whom they wear it are delighted.

“Marc Jacobs” the fragrance for men is distinctively masculine, fresh, woodsy.

It has a hint of a sea breeze blended with what I take to be a green base.

It makes a statement without shouting, it’s a suble aroma.

A GARDENIA FRAGRANCE WITH A DIFFERENCE4
“Marc Jacobs” the fragrance is young, fresh, and sensuous. It’s pure, understated, simple, and unforgettable.

Somehow he has done things with gardenias unheard of before. Remember granny’s favorite gardenia perfume, a bit cloying, heavy? Uh-uh forget that. This interpretation of gardenia is cutting edge, it complements without overwhelming the wearer.

Notes of Sicilian Bergamot and Tagete mingle with the top note, as accents of White Pepper and Egyptian Jasmine enrich.

This is a fragrance for confident, unconventional young women.

If I had to choose a fragrance that was THE most feminine I’ve ever smelled, it would be Marc Jacobs. Yes, it’s a gardenia based scent, but definitely not your typical musty, heavy gardenia by any means. Marc Jacobs is different in that it is a ‘wet gardenia’, like you’re smelling a bunch of gardenias that have been swirling around in a bowl of fresh water. Intoxicatingly alluring.

The notes of this fragrance are: Gardenia, Wild Muguet, Skin Musk, Cedar, Ginger. The gardenia in this is faint, but lovely. It isn’t a knock-you-out strong gardenia, but very mellow and mesmerizing. It’ll follow you like a breath of fresh air, and you’ll have people sniffing the air you leave behind. :) If you’ve ever smelled Michael by Michael Kors, this is DIFFERENT. Michael is not gardenia, but it is a tuberose scent. It is very strong, creamy, heavy, and thick. If you like Michael, you may like Marc Jacobs as your spring/summer alternative. They’re in the same family in terms of florals and such, but different in terms of how they wear. Marc Jacobs being flowy, and Michael being heavy.

The 1.7 oz. retails at $65, and the 3.4 oz. at $85. It’s quite expensive, but it does have that brand-name smacked on the front. :) I think it’s worth it. The lasting power is decent. Even when you may feel it is gone, it’s not, and people will compliment you.

Try it out and see how you like it on your skin!

I’ve been looking for a new summer fragrance and after I smelled it in the magazine I decided I had to have it. Smells like actual fresh flowers at first, dries down to a nice somewhat woodsy floral. This perfume is fairly subtle so if you have a problem with anything overpowering this one is for you.
